Keep Track is for any organisation or person who needs to maintain records of the progress of the children in their care in terms of the EYFS Developement Matters and Early Learning Goals. This includes nurseries, playgroups and childminders.

What is the advantage of using Keep Track over a paper based system?
The first main advantage is the speed and simplicity with which you can collate and examine evidence that a child has reached a particular Early Learning Goal. This is extremely useful during an Ofsted inspection.
The second main advantage is the ability to use the information you have recorded to make planning decisions and inform parents.

My colleagues are not very PC literate. Will they cope?
Keep Track is rich in functionality, so to get the most from it, it helps if you are reasonably confident using a PC. However, it has been designed with close consultation with the people who will use it. As a result, the main task of recording observations is very simple and broken down into a series of small steps.

Will I need to be constantly printing sheets from Keep Track to keep my paper records up to date?
Although Keep Track can create documents for you to print, it is intended that the electronic data in Keep Track are the only copy of your records you need. This means that up to date paper records are not needed. We recommend, of course, that you manage you Keep Track database in the way you would any electronic data you store in accordance with your local policy with regards privacy and back-ups.
